I recently had the opportunity to attend the Field Suitcase Workshop in which Fred Tischler was the instructor. I highly recommend this series to anyone seriously interested in collecting or thinking of repairing clocks. If you would like to email Fred directly for more info on the classes you can do so at:
We were lucky to have Fred as our instructor as he is enthusiastic about what he does and explains things in such a manner that it is understandable even to the person who is not mechanically inclined.
While we had some free time together Fred shared some of formulas with me. Thinking that they were quite useful I asked his permission to bring them to you here on my web page.
Until I can get the interactive formulas up and running, if you use Excel on your computer I can email the formulas to you.
The formulas are :
Find Escape Wheel for a Given Pendulum Length
Calculate Pendulum Length by Trial and Error
Spring Calculations and Parameters
Calculate Clock Train and Pendulum Length

Hope that you enjoy and find them of value as I have!!
